Ingredients
2 heaped tbsp butter
3/4 - 1 cup milk
2 cups self raising flour + extra for kneading process
2 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Method
Turn on the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and then line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a bowl, add the self raising flour and baking powder and then mix to combine.
Rub the butter into the flour mixture until it forms a nice, crumbly texture and then add the salt and combine. Form a well with the flour mixture and then add the milk and mix with a knife until just combined. Turn out onto a well floured (self raising) bench and then lightly knead together using more self raising flour as needed. Cut into desired shapes and then place on the prepared tray. Lightly baste with milk and then bake for 10 - 12 minutes. Enjoy with jam and fresh cream.
