Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding

Rich and chocolatey, this delightful recipe is like a big warm hug. A traditional recipe, but a classic for a reason! Enjoy straight out of the oven when the pudding is crispy and the sauce is hot. Finish with custard, cream or both :)

150g self raising flour
240g brown sugar
40g cocoa powder
125ml milk
45g butter
500ml boiling water
Cream to serve

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Grease an oven proof dish with butter.
Combine flour, half the sugar, and cocoa into a medium bowl.
Add milk and melted butter and stir well.
Pour mixture into prepared dish.
In a separate bowl, sift the remaining sugar and cocoa.
Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the pudding.
Gently pour in the boiling water to cover all the pudding mixture.
Bake in the oven for 35 - 40 minutes.
Serve immediately with custard, cream or both :)
